Supergirl Reportedly Casting Lois Lane

Though Supergirl was initially keen to let its heroine stand on her own two feet, the show has grown in confidence enough over the seasons to feature more and more characters from Superman lore. Not least the Man of Steel himself, as played by Tyler Hoechlin, last seen in season 2. Now it seems that The CW is looking to cast the love of his life as well, Lois Lane.

Omega Underground has unveiled what could be a casting call for the part of the Daily Planet reporter. In particular, they’ve uncovered an audition tape featuring actress Sarah Ceballos (Sector 17) trying her hand at the iconic role. Ou suggest that Lois’ arrival on Supergirl could come at the tail-end of season 3, or perhaps be held back for the beginning of season 4. Either way, though, it looks like she’s definitely about to make her presence felt.

Supergirl has been heading

Supergirl Fall Finale Recap: Reign Drops

Supergirl Fall Finale Recap: Reign Drops
Mon-El’s new bride was thrilled to meet Kara on the fall finale of Supergirl. Too bad the feeling was… less than mutual.

“Your wife is lovely,” Kara told her bearded ex through clenched teeth during an awkward run-in — one mercifully cut short by a call from the prison. Kara’s old pal Thomas Coville (Chad Lowe, ‘member him?) was spouting some crazy prophecies from his cell, and not from the Book of Rao. “Kara Danvers, there is so much that you still don’t know,” he told her.

How Grey's Anatomy Bounced Back From the Brink & Joined the 300 Episode Club as One of TV's Most Prolific Shows
In the spring of 2005, ABC was on quite an upswing. Teri Hatcher was getting desperate on Wisteria Lane, while Matthew Fox was wondering just what kind of island he crash landed on, putting the floundering network back on the map culturally when their shows began the fall before. And then along came Ellen Pompeo.  On March 27, Grey's Anatomy, a medical drama series from first time showrunner Shonda Rhimes, debuted as a midseason replacement for Boston Legal, introducing the world to Meredith Grey, McDreamy, Seattle Grace Hospital, and one particularly important Snow Patrol song. For 14 seasons, hopelessly devoted fans have kept the show alive, long after both Desperate Housewives and Lost (as well as...

Comic Books Actually Exist! And Other Things I’ve Found Out

Author Note: This original editorial was written in 2011, and several of the references are clearly dated, and more than that, in the past six years, my perspective has altered, changed, been tweaked,…, been re-examined (Shrugs) something to that effect- needless to say that this is the article written by a then-still young(er), still unknowing film school undergrad who had a more wide-eyed and bushy-tailed view of the subculture than I do now. My perspective as an outsider was more curious and intriguing at the time, and I think it’s important to have those kinds of initial thoughts documented, as much if not moreso than one’s current more-refined thoughts. While I will update portions of this article at the bottom of the page, I ask that you keep in mind, the perspective in which it was written, and forgive what are obvious dated references to the time period.

The Top 20 Seinfeld Episodes of All-Time

Here is my Top 20 greatest Seinfeld episodes in descending order. You will not find any episodes that feature George’s parents because their presence in the series was far more annoying than their presumed added value to the show. Only a few episodes on the list include appearances by Jerry’s parents. As much as humanly possible, episodes that dealt with the Jerry and George getting the job writing the pilot for NBC have also been avoided. As much as possible, the episodes included in the list have parts by established actors such as Lloyd Bridges, Teri Hatcher, Maggie Wheeler, Philip

‘Supergirl: The Complete Second Season’ Blu-ray Review

To many, Supergirl is an important superhero show. Not only is it a successful example of a DC show, but it also flies the flag for female superheroes. With the release of Supergirl: The Complete Second Season, things are bigger and on an even greater scale, but does that make it a success?

With Kara (Melissa Benoist) striving to make herself as successful journalist at Catco Worldwide Media, she also has to do the same as Supergirl. Working with her adoptive sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Hank Henshaw (David Harewood), the Martian Manhunter at the Deo, the stakes have never been higher. Thankfully, she has friends and family (including Superman) to help her save the day.

There are a lot of important things that happen in this season, which feel ground-breaking for the show. This includes the “coming out” of Kara’s sister Alex. This is important because of the way it is handled,

Review: Supergirl: The Complete Second Season

  • Comicmix
The biggest problem with the DC Comics series on the CW is that they are overstuffed, robbing the title character of the spotlight and forcing them to work as part of a team. The formula can be repetitive and stifling, demanding that the star rise above the noise to get noticed.

As Supergirl moved from CBS where it was a well-reviewed, low-rated buzz series, to the CW, changes had to be made. Calista Flockhart chose not to join the team in Canada so Cat Grant, one of the more interesting members of the cast, was gone but the crappy looking Deo set got a major upgrade.

With Supergirl: The Complete Second Season now available from Warner Home Entertainment, we’re given a chance to evaluate how the sophomore outing went. They certainly aimed high, opening with the inevitable arrival of Supergirl (Melissa Benoist)’s cousin, Superman (Tyler Hoechlin). Of course,

Co-Stars Compete in Lead Actress in a TV Movie/Limited Series Category

In the fifth episode of the FX limited series “Feud,” aptly titled “And the Winner Is … (The Oscars of 1963),” bitter rivals Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) go head-to-head at the Oscars. Never mind that Crawford wasn’t even nominated: She manages to steal the night by offering to accept the golden statue on behalf of the other lead actress nominees.

And now Lange and Sarandon find themselves nominated against each other in probably the most competitive category of the year: lead actress in a limited series or TV movie. But don’t draw any parallels to the actresses they played on screen; Lange assures us there are no real-life similarities. “I was so happy the day I saw the nominations and realized the six main actors in the piece were all nominated,” Lange says, referring not only to her and Sarandon, but also their supporting cast of Judy Davis, Jackie Hoffman

Tara Reid Gets Paid a Quarter of What Her Sharknado Costar Ian Ziering Earns on Each Installment: Report
Since its first installment premiered on July 11, 2013, the Sharknado franchise has become practically invaluable to Syfy — but while the budget for each film has gotten bigger, the wage gap between female lead Tara Reid and her male costar Ian Ziering has reportedly remained the same.

This week’s issue of The Hollywood Reporter features an inside look at the surprise hit franchise in which it’s claimed that Reid — who starred in all four installments as well as the upcoming fifth, Sharknado 5: Global Swarming — makes about a quarter of what Ziering earns on each installment.

For Sharknado 5, THR reports that the budget was $3 million,

Smallville Star Joining Supergirl For Season 3

Over its past two seasons, Supergirl has welcomed various actors who’ve previously appeared in Superman or Supergirl related productions. Lois & Clark‘s Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher have both turned up, as has 1984’s Supergirl star Helen Slater. Another is Laura Vandervoort, who played Supergirl on Smallville. Now, one of Vandervoort’s co-stars on the show has landed a part on the upcoming third season of The CW DC series.

Erica Durance, most well known for starring as Lois Lane opposite Tom Welling’s Clark Kent on the Superman prequel, has landed the part of Kara Danver’s Kryptonian mother Alura. The character was previously played by Laura Benanti in a major recurring role across season 1 (plus a brief cameo in season 2). As Benanti proved unavailable this time around, the Supergirl team took the opportunity to bring on board another “legacy” actress.

Exec producer Andrew Kreisberg had this to
