Best 25 Horror Oscar Winners, Ranked
Most people think that snobby Oscar voters through the decades have turned their backs on the horror genre. Not so. True, far more horror flicks have been nominated for Oscars — including many Alfred Hitchcock movies — than have won. Hitch was nominated six times for Best Director and never took home a gold statue, which is why he was awarded an Honorary Oscar in 1968. “Thank you,” he said, and walked offstage.

We scoured the record books to find 25 Oscar-winning horror movies, and herewith rank them for you.

After heated arguments among the IndieWire staff, we threw out a dozen or so monster movies (“King Kong,” “Mighty Joe Young,” “Jurassic Park”), ghost films (“Ghost”) and scary psychological thrillers like Hitchcock’s “Spellbound” that just didn’t feel like horror flicks to us.

Defining a horror movie is subjective. Is it about gore and guts and supernatural beings, or how it makes you feel?

Laurence Fishburne on swapping the Dceu for the McU with Ant-Man and the Wasp

Having portrayed Daily Planet editor Perry White in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Laurence Fishburne is swapping the DC Extended Universe for the Marvel Cinematic Universe next year as he takes on the role of Bill Foster, a.k.a. Goliath, in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Speaking to Yahoo!, Fishburne has expressed his excitement about joining the McU, as well as discussing his love of comic books:

“I’ve been watching Marvel movies for a long time and I’ve imagined and dreamt and fantasized that one day I’d be lucky enough to be in the Marvel Universe and that day has come… I was mostly a Marvel guy, but I also loved the DC comics. I loved the DC universe. I bought comics from both universes. And then subsequently bought comics from other labels — Vertigo and Dark Horse.”

Final Round Of Set Photos For Ant-Man And The Wasp Hint At A Potential Spoiler

Such is the breathless nature of Hollywood filmmaking that just as one movie wraps, another begins to mosey into production.

Take the Marvel Cinematic Universe as an example. Now approaching its 10th anniversary, the lucrative, interconnected franchise has become the crown jewel of Marvel Studios, spawning must-see event movies (Captain America: Civil War) and spellbinding spinoffs (Thor: Ragnarok) as if they’re going out of fashion.

It recently placed a bow on the production of Ant-Man and the Wasp – just as Captain Marvel gears up for its alleged start in January – but not before one final batch of set photos escaped onto the interwebs. First spotted by UK tabloid the Daily Mail, these candid images find Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer – Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne – enjoying a romantic stroll along the beach. The latter is also seen with flowing grey hair, which may hint at the fate of Pfeiffer’s newcomer.

We also recently got our first glimpse at Michelle Pfieffer as Janet Van Dyne, the thought-to-be-dead wife of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and mother of Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly). Paul Rudd Shows Off New Ant-Man 2 Costume in Funny QandA Video
Paul Rudd showed off the new Ant-Man suit on the set of Ant-Man and the Wasp in San Francisco while appearing on HBO's Night of Too Many Stars benefit show. The sequel takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War and in typical Disney/Marvel fashion, details have been scarce regarding any significant details, but Rudd gave us the best look at the new suit that we have seen thus far. In addition, Paul Rudd confirmed that they change some of the suit details for every movie.

While the video does give us a sneak peek into the set of Ant-Man 2 and the new suit, it's also really funny. Rudd sets up the bit as if he's reading fan questions and expecting all of the questions to be Marvel-related, but it quickly becomes evident that all anybody wants to ask the actor about is a particular scene from 2009's I Love You,
