A close 2nd for my favorite... Morgan Freeman's narration made this great movie one of the greatest movies ever made. Some people even forget that he's there talking us through the experience. But, he makes a normal scene magical, like when the 2 ladies were singing Opera.

Director: David O. Russell | Stars: Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver

Votes: 585,070 | Gross: $132.09M

Simply stated, this is the BEST movie I have seen in many years. I loved every second of this film, and it has quickly become an all-time favorite of mine, right up there with Shawshank, Godfather, Forrest Gump, Green Mile, Field of Dreams and Goodfellas. It is THAT good.

You can also add me to what must be a growing list of men who have been captivated and mesmerized by Ms Jennifer Lawrence. She is so wonderful in this movie, and a lock to win the Globe (and other awards) for best actress for a comedy/musical.

I thought Jennifer was terrific in The Hunger Games, but I fell in love with her watching Silver Linings Playbook. Oh, yea, and this movie should also win a few best comedy/musical awards in a close race with Les Miserables.

Update - Was thrilled to see this movie win the awards that I knew it would. Well deserved. Now, Jennifer and Bradley seem to be in every new movie out there...

It's only out on VHS, so if you haven't seen it, good luck finding it. Supposedly Richard Dreyfuss hated his acting in this movie, and that is why it never came out on DVD. He is wrong about his acting, IMO. He plays a character with little to like as a viewer, and maybe he confused that with his performance. He and Amy Irving make a cute couple and worthy adversaries in this piano competition. I really enjoyed it, and I hope you can find it and see it too.
