Furthermore William Castle as well as the narrator involve the audience directly by talking to them and by use of several gimmicks (the introduction of "percepto").
This is not just a monster movie, it's also a film about the experience of film itself.
And another movie with a mute character - and again in combination with silent film.

This is just a small part of the movie. But it really sets the mood, it's loaded with metaphors, and it's beautiful filmed! So it's an important part to me.
