R | 115 min | Drama, Horror, Romance
Oskar, an overlooked and bullied boy, finds love and revenge through Eli, a beautiful but peculiar girl.
Votes: 186,448 | Gross: $2.12M
The best vampire movie to come out this decade! Allows you to feel for the characters without seducing you and putting its hand down your blouse! The American version, "Let Me In", is definitely worth mentioning as well...
2. Salem's Lot (1979 TV Movie)
PG | 187 min | Horror
A novelist and a young horror fan attempt to save a small New England town which has been invaded by vampires.
Cheesy adaptation with a Nosferatu-lead that scared the hell out of me! The floating boy outside the window still freaks me out today!
3. The Lost Boys (1987)
R | 97 min | Comedy, Horror
After moving to a new town, two brothers discover that the area is a haven for vampires.
Votes: 102,888 | Gross: $32.22M
If vampires existed, it wouldn't be super '80's cool like this movie!
4. From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)
R | 108 min | Action, Crime, Horror
Two criminals and their hostages unknowingly seek temporary refuge in a truck stop populated by vampires, with chaotic results.
Votes: 242,416 | Gross: $25.75M
No love story, just bloodsuckers! KNB f/x... 'nuff said!
5. Fright Night (1985)
R | 106 min | Horror, Thriller
When a teenager learns that his next door neighbour is a vampire, no one will believe him.
Votes: 48,570 | Gross: $24.92M
A pretty good 80's rehashing with the fearless vampire killer (Roddy McDowall) and Charlie's vampire neighbor (Chris Sarandon) helping the otherwise uneventful script along emmensely!
6. Salem's Lot (2004– )
TV-14 | 181 min | Drama, Horror, Mystery
Writer Ben Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem's Lot and discovers that it is being terrorized by vampires.
Enjoyable re-make more closely resembling the Stephen King novel- truly the greatest vampire novel ever written because it proves a Vampire story doesn't need romance, weak women and a beautiful pale-faced guy to entertain us.
7. Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995)
PG-13 | 88 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror
Mel Brooks' parody of the classic vampire story and its famous film adaptations.
Votes: 33,319 | Gross: $10.69M
All the elements of the original story with a comedic twist. At least I can stomach Reinfield in this version. Mel Brooks and Leslie Neilsen.
8. Innocent Blood (1992)
R | 112 min | Action, Comedy, Crime
Marie is a vampire with a thirst for bad guys. When she fails to properly dispose of one of her victims, a violent mob boss, she bites off more than she can chew and faces a new, immortal danger.
Votes: 8,036 | Gross: $4.97M
Love and lust appear in this film, but not to lure victims with. Neat take on the genre from John Landis (An American Werewolf in London).
9. Vampire's Kiss (1988)
R | 103 min | Comedy, Horror
After an encounter with a neck-biter, a publishing executive thinks that he's turning into a vampire.
Votes: 10,768 | Gross: $0.73M
One of the only Vampire films on this list to delve into the lust and seduction of the genre that I so loathe... but this is Nicolas Cage at his maniacal best!
10. Vampires (1998)
R | 108 min | Action, Horror, Thriller
Recovering from an ambush that killed his entire team, a vengeful vampire slayer must retrieve an ancient Catholic relic that, should it be acquired by vampires, will allow them to walk in sunlight.
Votes: 46,147 | Gross: $20.24M
John Carpenter's version (and James Woods) kicks @ss! This movie sports wood for all who suck!
