People Who Are Popular to Hate

Don't you hate these people? No, you probably don't really. You hate them because other people hate them. You hate these people because it's popular to hate them. Make your own decisions and judgements, people.

Yes, I agree that several of these people have done things deserving of a bit of bashing, but if you're going to bash someone, come up with your own reasons to bash it, not just what other people say.

Stop the hate.

Oh for the love of God, would people shut up about Justin Bieber? He's not a bad kid. Why do people act like he's something horrifying? Why do people act like they've never seen a child singer before? Or a male singer with a high-pitched singing voice? Face it people, having a high-pitched singing voice is a STAPLE of music! Michael Jackson, Axel Rose, Robert Plant; hell, Geddy Lee is practically a woman!
Don't diss on a kid just because he's living his dream and you ain't living yours.

Michael BaySPLOSIONS! His movies substitute subplots for special effects, his characters are (generally) lame, and he makes millions even while critics shoot him down everywhere he goes. Furthermore, according to a relative of mine who works with him, the man is an a$$hole. Still, come up for your own reasons for disliking him. Don't just give us rehashes of what all the critics say, make your own judgements. And don't be afraid to say you liked one of his films. He's a far cry from the worst director in the world.

Hard as it may to accept, she isn't a success for her looks alone. She is a professional, and acts like one, on and off the set. Furthermore, she is a fairly talented actress with a lot of ability and dedication to her roles. You might as well accept that she will probably remain an actress even after she's no longer eye candy.

Admittedly, he can make poking fun at him a little too easy sometimes. But try not to forget that he is actually an Academy-Award-winning actor and the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola. He makes a lot of movies, and the fact is there are a lot of roles that suit him brilliantly. Even the silly ones.

I admit he can get on my nerves. But that's mostly just his newer movies. I love a lot of his earlier stuff. Even Stevens, Holes, The Greatest Game Ever Played. He has some chops, but what can we say when he keeps trying to exercise his "I'm not going to just go along with this!" muscles? He's another actor who needs to cool down a bit.

Everyone seems to think it's hip to hate this guy. I'll admit that it's hard for me to like him. Every movie he's in, he always plays an a$$hole. Admittedly he sort of grew on me by the end of 30 Minutes or Less, but it still isn't enough. But if the guy can continue making and being in films, he must be doing something right. I'll let you know what it is, once I've figured it out myself.
So, uh....yeah. Stop the hate. Anyone can help me provide reasons not to hate him, I'd love to hear them.

I've found a reason to like him! Or more specifically, a movie. Up In The Air. It took me a few viewings and some research before I realized he was actually in it. He was the groom who got cold feet. The little conversation between him and George Clooney is quiet but moving. More amazing still, he hardly swears at all.

Just goes to show that everyone has redeeming qualities.

Really needs to cool down and lay low for a little while. I think he's trying to do too much, too fast, too long. He has good movies, but also movies where he can just be annoying. Still, he has ability, both comedy-wise and acting-wise. I just think he needs some time off-camera to develop a bit more.

The man is funny, and he can also sing pretty bloody well, too. Yeah, he is basically a British Charlie Sheen, but his characters can be more redeeming. One thing you can always see in his characters in that there is a decent person inside. He might be stupid or messed-up as all hell, but he's not a bad person.

I stand by my support of M. Night Shyamalan indefinitely. He has a style of filmmaking that is unique to him. For me, the best parts of his movies are the little details they have. Just small things that ring true for us on a very emotional and personal level. They are small, but that's what makes them worth defending.

Still, I hear a lot about this guy; scientology, Oprah, etc. Once I asked some of my friends "What does any of that have to do with his acting?" out of honest curiosity, because I didn't really know the details of any of those things. The only answer I got was "it doesn't, really."
Am I the only one that sees the reasoning behind that?

We attack her when she's up, we kick her when she's down. No one wants to give Ms. Fox a chance. To be fair, she had a good entrance into movies; she definitely made an impression. Granted, her little outburst at Michael Bay and a string of unsuccessful films (big and small) has helped her detractors find ever more fault in her. Maybe it's because her image seems to bring to mind all that's wrong with Hollywood in our eyes. "Looks are everything, talent doesn't mean squat".

I can't say I'm a die-hard supporter of her, but I have to admire the nerve she brings to her characters.
