Writer/Directors with a lot of potential. If they're anything like the Coen bros, we should expect big things. they just have to graduate from the small indie mumble-core stuff

Peter Sollett

Nick n Norah's was underrated. To get a real sense of Sollett's potential you have to look at his earlier indie. Lots of potential, but also lote of potential of falling through the cracks.

A quirky-ness that translates well to his movies. His path seems clear.

Derick Martini

Writer/Director. By far the boldest of this bunch, his acclaimed Lymelife was sublime, his bi-polar Hick was loved by fans and hated by critics. With clear influences like Scorsese in his corner he has the biggest upside of the bunch. If he writes what he makes we'll have a new PT Anderson or Alexander Payne. If he starts to make mediocre studio films, we may have a new waste of raw talent. I put him at #5 because with the huge upside comes the chance of huge disappointment.

David Gordon Green

I only put him on the list because he already stopped writing and started making mediocre studio films. Which is why he's last. If he goes back to his roots ala George Washington and Snow Angels, he could make a quick come back and perhaps learn from his mistakes.
